Your Root Chakra, located at the base of your spine, is the foundation of your energetic body. It’s where your energy body/soul is connected to the energy around you and the energetic foundation that supports you. When it's out of balance, it can leave you feeling disconnected, fearful, unstable, and uncertain.
I made the attached video for social media a few weeks ago, but a lot has transpired in my life personally that relates to the video. So I decided to share with you what I have been going through because it ties in with the root chakra deeply.
I recently was laid off from my part time admin job as a finance coordinator. Later that evening I noticed that my tailbone hurt and I was feeling anxiety coming from that area. I was feeling unsafe, unsure about the future and like the rug was pulled out from under me. My sense of stability was gone and I felt so wobbly. My nervous system was reacting and I felt frozen in place, physically & mentally. I couldn’t move forward with a plan because I was stuck. I was also feeling a lot of fear because of the lack of money that I relied on was going away and that triggered a lot of financial traumas to pop back up.
After a few days, I was able to think a little more clearly and I began some self care work to help my root chakra come back into balance. I rested when my body told me to rest and I went for walks outside with my dog, Bruce as much as I could. I made chicken noodle soup with root veggies which was very comforting and grounding.
What made the biggest impact though was when I turned inward to meditate with my garnet palm stone and journaled about any feelings that popped up. I connected with my higher self and guides and asked them for help and guidance. Going inward always brings the answers the soul needs and then it filters it through the energy body then into the physical body, so it has a visceral effect. There’s no denying it when it’s felt. There’s no questioning if it’s real when it doesn’t come directly from the mind.
My guidance was that this happened so that I would have more time to focus on Aetherra and helping others through my energy work and crystal jewelry. I just had to trust it more now than ever before no matter how many challenges came my way. I also was guided to begin working through some leftover financial traumas from my past, which I am still working through. I’ve never gotten past these traumas, so this is new territory.
I was on a coaching call today with my business mentor, Michelle McGinnis and she brought in a somatic healer to guide us through some financial blocks in our businesses. This was exactly what my soul needed today! I had been feeling defeated because I haven’t had as many clients booking appointments, my crystal bracelets weren’t selling, and there was little to no interest in my two workshops I recently had.
This was an eye opening experience and the boost and hope I needed to work through the residual financial traumas I have been carrying. I will continue to use the exercises she showed us and am so very grateful to have yet another tool in my healing toolbox.
Now that I am feeling more balanced and stable, my anxiety is calm, my lower back pain has subsided and I am taking steps to build a new foundation, which is the foundation of Aetherra, LLC. Taking the time to slow down, listen to my body and process all of my emotions is insuring for the future that I won’t have to deal with these feelings at a later time because they have already been alchemized. I am grateful for all of the tools in my healing toolbox, because had this lay off happened ten years ago it would have been completely devastating and would have lasted a lot longer with emotional tensions building up for years.
When we let our body, mind and soul connect and process life together, we can learn and grow through self actualization.
Can you relate at all to my story? I’d love to hear about your experience. Send me a message and tell me your story!
Here are five signs that your Root Chakra might need some attention:
Feeling Unstable or Insecure – Do you often feel anxious about finances, relationships, or just life in general? This chakra gives us feedback on whether situations are safe, or if we feel grounded, so instability can be a sign it’s out of sync.
Physical Issues in the Lower Body – Chronic pain or tightness in your hips, legs, feet, or lower back can be linked to an imbalanced Root Chakra. Stuck energy can eventually lead to paid in that area until it finds a way out.
Lack of Energy or Motivation – If you find it hard to get moving or feel tired even after rest, it might mean your root energy is built up and causing a heaviness or sluggishness. Keeping you in a freeze state and unable to move forward.
Fearful Mindset – When this chakra is blocked, fear can creep in, impacting your mindset and making it difficult to trust yourself and others.
Disconnection from Nature – Feeling "out of touch" with your surroundings, struggling to find joy, or to connect with nature, or feeling constantly on edge are also signs.
Five ways to rebalance and strengthen your Root Chakra:
Grounding Practices:
Spend time in nature, such as walking barefoot on the grass (earthing).
Engage in grounding yoga poses like Mountain Pose (Tadasana), Warrior I (Virabhadrasana I), or Tree Pose (Vrikshasana).
Crystals for Healing:
Meditate or carry grounding stones like red jasper, hematite, or garnet.
Root Chakra Foods:
Eat grounding, earthy foods such as root vegetables (carrots, beets, potatoes) and red-colored foods (apples, cherries, red peppers).
Mantras and Affirmations:
Repeat affirmations like:
“I am safe and supported.”
“I trust the process of life.”
“I am grounded in the here and now.”
Energy Work and Visualization:
Visualize a red, glowing energy wheel at the base of your spine while meditating. Imagine it spinning smoothly and radiating warmth and vitality.
Seek reiki, sound healing, or other energy modalities focused on the root chakra.
A balanced Root Chakra fosters a strong sense of security, grounding, and vitality, creating a solid foundation for growth in all areas of life.
I am sending you all so much love and uplifting energy!
